It wouldn’t be Big Brother, without a good old twist! Having won the first HoH, MMA champion Miesha Tate set to work, planning who she was going to place on the block to face the first eviction. All was going smoothly, but Big Brother had other ideas.
Houseguests were gathered in the living room as Big Brother unveiled the Gala Gift box. Inside it was a purse to be worn as a hat, designed by Mon Won, the fashion designer of BB punishment costumes. It was revealed that the ultimate recipient would gain safety from the first eviction. To decide who would receive the gift of safety, houseguests had to play a variation of pass the parcel. Miesha started by passing the prop to Chris Kirkpatrick. Every time the hat was passed, that houseguest became ineligible to receive the immunity. This continued until there was only one person left who therefore won the immunity pass. From Chris Kirkpatrick, the hat was passed to Chris Katta, then to Todd, then Teddi, to Lamar, then Carson, then Todrick and then Mirai. With only Shanna and Cynthia left to receive the hat, Mirai was left to decide which of the two would earn safety. Mirai ultimately decided to give it to Shanna leaving her to pass it it to its final owner, Cynthia who won safety from the first eviction.
It was soon time for the nomination ceremony where Miesha chose to nominate Mira saying she was a strong competitor, and Carson who she said had a strong social game.
