Blindsided! Steve Arienta first to be evicted from Big Brother 20

Steve Arienta is the first houseguest to be evicted on Big Brother.

After a week of gameplay, drama, and tears – it was finally time for the first eviction for the 20th season of Big Brother. And what came with it was the first of many blindsides of the summer.

Former police officer Steve Arienta became the first houseguest to be evicted from the house, shocking the alliance known as FOUTTE. The vote was 7-6 and it would be Kaitlyn who flipped on her alliance to vote with Level 6.

Because of Steve’s eviction, Sam’s “Bonus Life” power from the BB App Store is still in play for another week.

Following his eviction, Steve joined host Julie Chen and admitted he was surprised to be out of the house.

“To say I’m not shocked would be a line,” he said. “I believed I had an alliance with ‘the bros’ and Swaggy and that group. I thought I could have them carry me over the seven votes in the first week.”

Julie asked him if he had trouble connecting with his housemates because of his age, being the oldest one in the house.

“They never made me feel like an outsider,” Steve said. “They never excluded me from any games and I have no reason to feel anything bad towards them.”

It was then time to find out who the next HoH would be. The game was one we’ve seen in years past, where houseguests flip a ball through the air to land on a number. The HG with the highest number wins.

Scottie takes an early lead with 40, followed by Sam with 50. However, it was Kaitlyn who scored 80 and was crowned the new Head of Household.

It seems we are in for a cracker of a week with Kaitlyn in charge after she betrayed her old alliance and now is stuck in the middle between two different groups.

Who will Kaitlyn nominate for eviction and which houseguest will be awarded a power from the BB App Store? Find out Sunday as Big Brother 20 continues. If you can’t wait until then, head to our spoilers page for live updates from the house.
